In the News - Beat the heat
Story by Scott Logan of KBOI
During the cool, wet spring, Boise Cold Storage went into scale back mode.
But now the heat is on, literally, and the 100-year-old ice factory is cranking out the cubes.
So is it the coolest place in town to beat the heat at the temprature moves toward 102 degrees?
"At this point today it will be the coolest place in town, yeah," said owner Tim Johnson.
Just how much ice can they make?
"If we have everything going, all the machines working, we can put out about 260 tons a day," Johnson said.
